Obituary

Janice P. Frost passed away at her home in Minden, Nevada on Saturday afternoon, January 17, 2009. She was 86.

Janice was born in Ysketa Valley, Texas on May 4, 1922 the daughter of Gus and Katherine (Hooks) Parker. Janice was a gift to the world. She was a role model to both young and old, as well as a true reminder that we can be young at heart and always continue learning throughout life. Her motto: Never stop Learning.

She received a Bachelor of Arts from USC in music and later a teaching credential in Elementary Education. She was a member of the national Society of Colonial Dames XVII Century, the National Historic Society, Sons and Daughters of the Pilgrams, Carson and Nevada Art Association, Tahoe Art League and the Carson Valley Genealogy Society. She was an amazing singer, musician, artist and teacher. Above all she was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother and Friend.

She is survived by her Daughter, Mary Wright of Wellington and son, Scott of California; her three grandchildren and 0ne great grandchild.
A Memorial service has been held and inurnment will be later in the spring at Hillcrest Cemetery. Cremation and arrangements were under the direction of Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home 25 Hwy 208 Yerington, Nevada (775) 463-2911.
