Jay passed away at his home in Yerington, Nevada, on Monday, February 8, 2021, at the age of 82.

Jay was born in Fort Supply, Oklahoma, on October 23, 1938, the son of Eloise Crippen and Jay Hibbert. Jay and his mother moved to Southern California at a very early age and lived there most of his life.

Jay married Linda Walston on October 5, 1957, and they made their home in Los Angeles, California. Together they had four children: Teresa, Sherri, Jay, and Debbie. Through the years, they enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing, skeet shooting, dirt bike riding, listening to Elvis as he played his guitar and traveling. A handyman in any situation, Jay had a fix for anything that needed repair. Jay was a heavy lathe operator for many years before retiring and moving to Minden, Nevada, in 1992. In his retirement, he enjoyed cooking, tinkering with electronics, and spending time with family. He had a passion for the old west, enjoyed watching old westerns, and loved '49 Mercurys,. One of his favorite activities was sharing a meal with family and telling stories about the good old days when he was ten years old.

He is preceded in death by his mother Eloise, and his wife Linda of 42 years.

He is survived by his loving, patient, and caring companion of 14 years Joyce Casler, daughters Teresa (Bill) Neely of San Bernardino, CA, Sherri Turner of Apple Valley, CA, and Debbie (David) Wiles of Carson City, NV, son Jay Turner, Jr., of Apple Valley, CA, as well as 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to nurses Leslie and Mickey, as well as the entire Infinity Hospice Care network.

Jay was a loving and caring husband, father, and friend. We will miss the way he greeted his loved ones with "Oh yeah…" and his goodbyes with "Glad you got to see me."

We will miss you, Papa Jay. Glad we got to spend life with you!
