Obituary

Muriel Jean Jacob Childs passed into heaven peacefully in her sleep on Monday, October 30th after a short illness.

Jean was born on October 4th, 1939 in Los Angeles, California to George and June (nee: McFarlane) Jacobs. The family moved to Mason Valley when Jean was 13. Jean's father was a ranch manager in the area including the cottonwood ranch and kassigin ranch. He later worked for standard slag. Jean had attended schools in Yerington.

For several years Jean and her husband Chet Wilson ran the pack station out of Buckeye Creek near Bridgeport with other Wilson family members. she had lived several years in Southern California but she always came home to Yerington. For the last 20 years she had worked at Casino West, Dini's and Kathie's family Dining. she was in charge of the restaurant floor staff and taught many young people strong work ethics. any of the people who worked with 'Mean Jean' would tell you that she was a fair and hard working person and was respected and loved by many.

She is survived by her soul mate and companion of many years, Craig smith; her children, Shanna and her husband Mike Mosely and John and his wife Cindy Wilson and Robin Barlow. By her grandchildren, Stephen, Sara and Austin Moseley; Johathan Wilson, Rachelle her husband Josh Crawford and Natasha Crawford and by three great grandchildren; her brothers, Dan Jacobs and George Jacobs her sister Terry Jacobs. she was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Samantha Wilson.

A gathering to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, November 4th at 1:30 pm at the Jack Mann residence, Santa Margarita Ranch 136 East Walker Road. Everyone is welcome.
