Jean M. 'Jeanne' Brown passed away at her home in Yerington on Friday evening, October 31, 2008. She was 77.

Jeanne was born April 17, 1931 in Stockton, California the daughter of William and Bernice Telles. She married Jay Erwin Brown in Berkley, California on September 7, 1957. She was a loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother and took great pride in her family. She was very creative, artistic and a wonderful cook. The kids always looked forward to one of MOM's home cooked meals. Being an avid reader she was known at the local library as "the lady who was reading through the library alphabetically'. She truly enjoyed her retirement in Yerington with all the friendly people and often referred to the area as 'Mayberry RFD'. She lived in Yerington for the past 10 years coming from Murphys,California where she lived over 35 years. She will truly be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Dennis Brown of Sheep Ranch, CA, Judy (Gary) Risling of McKinleyville, CA, Kathleen Brown-Washmuth of Yerington and Phyllis Brown of Yerington; her grandchildren, Jeannine Brown of San Andreas, CA, Tony & Natalie Brown of Burson, CA, Emmilee Risling of McKineyville, CA and Mary Risling of McKineyville, CA; her great grandchildren, Zachery, Zoey, Nicole, Sara and Samantha. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on July 29, 2002.
