Jeanne E. Bell passed away on Thursday morning, September 29, 2011 at the South Lyon Medical Center/LTC in Yerington, Nevada. She was 91.

Jeanne was born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina on December 22, 1919 the daughter of Tilden and Bessie (Richard) Gauthier.

Jeanne was raised an army brat, traveling to many outposts throughout her childhood. Jeanne graduated from Inglewood High School and then attended Sawyer's Business College in Los Angeles, CA. She worked for Lockheed Aircraft in Burbank, CA during
WWII, she also worked for the California Highway Patrol, U.S. Post Office, the Mono County Auditor's Office and the Mono County Assessor's Office before retiring in 1980.

Jeanne married Bernard Bray in 1940, but became a widow and then married Gordon Bell on November 18, 1949. Jeanne and Gordon resided in Bridgeport, California and were married for 59 years. Jeanne and Gordon enjoyed their retirement, traveling and attending jazz festivals and meeting new friends.

Jeanne is survived by her children, Teresa (Clyde) Burchell, Brian (Shelley) Bell; her brother, Richard (Geri) Gauthier, her sister-in-law, Oline Bell; as well as many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents, a brother, Tilden Gauthier, Jr. (Bud), and her husband Gordon.

A Celebration Memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Monday, October 17, 2011 at the 1881 Coffee Cafe, 362 Main Street, Bridgeport, California.
