Jeff Edward Lucier died on July 8, 2026. He was 70 years old.

Jeff was born on February 28, 1956, to Warren and Veronica Lucier. He lived in North Adam’s Massachusetts until the family along with Theresa Jolen (now Terry Menesini) moved to Yerington, Nevada. Jeff started first grade at Yerington Elementary School where he made many lifelong friends. He graduated from Yerington High School in 1974. He attended The University of Nevada in Reno for one year. From there he worked in several different jobs until Sam Maisano hired him to be a custodian for Yerington Elementary School. It was at Sam Maisano’s encouragement that Jeff went back to UNR and earned a bachelor's degree in social work in 1988. Jeff then went to New Mexico Highlands University and earned a master's degree in social work. It was there that he met a fellow social work student named Nancy Gilson. After graduation he returned to Nevada and sought employment working with the geriatric population in Reno. Nancy followed and also sought to work in the social work field. They married on August 17, 1991.

Jeff returned to Yerington and worked as a school social worker until he retired in 2007. Jeff and Nancy adopted two children, Dominique from the people’s republic of China in 1998 and Aaron from South Korea in 1999. After retirement, Jeff was elected to the Yerington City Council where he served until he and Nancy moved out of the city limits in 2016. Jeff then worked for Lyon Council on Alcohol and drugs (now Rural Nevada Counseling). He had just started working for Atlas mental health when he had a major medical crisis. He recovered from this and in 2022 had cardiac surgery. His health began deteriorating after this. Jeff enjoyed camping, biking, photography, fishing and spending time with family. He loved old cars and was a die hard Rams fan. He authored one book titled Madam’s Mini. At the time of his death, he had just completed major spine surgery and had been ready to begin physical rehabilitation prior to returning home. He died with his wife, Nancy, as always by his side and with his sister Annette on the phone. He died on his mother’s birthday, and his granddaughter was born later that same day.

He is survived by his wife Nancy of almost 35 years, his daughter Dominique (Lucier) Magliocchetti (Michael) of Reno, NV; son Aaron Lucier of Burlington, SC; grandsons Dante and Levi Magliocchetti and granddaughter Celeste Magliocchetti of Reno; brother Bart (Joanie) Lucier of Reno; sister Annette (Lucier) Weeks of Rye Patch, NV and; 5 nieces, one nephew, 7 great nephew, 2 great nieces and 2 great great nephews.
