Obituary
John A. Munson passed away early Thursday morning, April 28, 2011 at the South Lyon Medical Center, Long Term Care in Yerington. John was 101.
John was born in Marysvalle, Utah on March 4, 1910 the son of Silas and Serene (Hanson) Munsen. He married Mae Lee in McGill, Nevada in 1931. She passed away in Yerington on August 13, 2000.
John had worked for Kencott Copper as a Crusher Operator in McGill, Nevada and moved to California where he worked at the shipyards during the War and then he had worked for Ford Motor Company until he retired. In 1975 he moved back to Nevada settling in Yerington where he has lived for the past 36 years. He enjoyed deer hunting and playing cards.
He is survived by his son, Les Munson; his daughter, Flora Mauerman; by his sister, Delna Day; nine grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and four sisters, and his wife.
A graveside service was held 1:00 pm Saturday, April 30, 2011 at the Valley View Cemetery in Yerington.
