It is with great sadness that the family of Joseph P. Cabral, Sr announces his passing on Thursday afternoon, July 13, 2018 at his residence in Wellington. He was 90.
Joe was born August 21, 1927 in Turlock, California the son of Fernando and Flora (Lima) Cabral. He was a veteran having served in the US Army.
Joe owned the Walker River Construction for many years and sold the business a few years ago when he decided to retire. Besides planting large vegetable gardens and beautiful flowers around the house, Joe loved to put wind mills together and make shadow people out of wood.
He is survived by his children, Kathy Cook, Jacque Ferguson and Joseph Carbral, Jr.; also his extended family of children, Valerie Salet-Breckenridge, Carol Salet-Tripp and Tom Salet; his 12 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and his two sisters, Elaine and Dorothy. He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Norma and two grandsons.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 25th at the Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home, 2 - 5:00 pm. His funeral service will be held 11:00 am Thursday, July 26, 2018 at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 11 Hwy 338 in Smith with burial with military honors at the Hillcrest Cemetery.
