Joseph Lloyd DeVault passed away on Sunday morning, February 26, 2012 at the Renown Medical Center in Reno, Nevada. He was 79.

Joe was born in Kansas City, Missouri on February 29, 1932 the son of Joseph and Lillian (Carnnahan) DeVault.

Joe met the love of his life, Pat Sisco, when both were stationed at Camp Pendleton Marine base in Oceanside, California. They tied the knot in the General's Chapel on September 5, 1952.

After serving his time in the Marines, Joe and family moved to Los Angeles, but evenually moved back to the San Diego County where he worked for Safeway stores. Joe transferred to the Yreka area where he became manager of the local Safeway and retired in 1985. Before moving to Yerington, NV to help care for his sister, Joe managed the Elks Lodge in Yreka. After moving to Yerington, Joe became active helping to promote the Knights of Columbus at Holy Family Catholic Church, Joe was a 4th Degree Knight.

Joe is survived by his wife of 59 years, Pat and Sister Eleanora Sanders both of Yerington; his children, Paddy (Bill) Ottman of Yreka, CA, Joe (Terry) DeVault, III of Fallon, Sue DeVault of Sparks, Jon (Teri) DeVault of Santa Rosa, CA; brother-in-law, Dr. John (Glen) Sisco of Springfield, MO and J. Lynn (Donna) Sisco of Rogue River, OR; grandchildren, 1Sgt Will (Chistina) Ottman of Alaska, Joe (Charlie) DeVault IV of CA, Sgt. Kris Ottman of Washington, Ashley (Dustin) Barnes of NV, Caitlyn and Bethany DeVault of CA; great grandchildren, Maressa, Micala and Mara Ottman of Alaska, Devon and Bishop DeVault of CA, Jordan Ottman of CA and Lola Wheeler of NV. Also close family friends Theresa Sims of NV and Paula (Randy)Thompson of NV. Joe was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Lillian Paquette.

A Rosary will be recited for Joe 7:00 pm Sunday, March 4th at the Holy Family Catholic Church, 37 N. West Street Yerington. The Memorial Mass will be 10:00 am Monday, March 5th at Holy Family Catholic Church. Inurnment with military honors will be 2:00 pm Monday at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley.
