Joseph "Joe" Lommori was born on February 11, 1927 in Yerington to Luigi and Marianna Lommori. He succumbed to Kidney Cancer on May 18, 2017 at the South Lyon Medical Center, Yerington.  He was 90.

He was a lifelong resident of Yerington. Joe was born in the family ranch house behind McLeod Hill. Joe attended the one room Gallagher School, which was located at the corner of U.S. 95A and Silverado Lane. When that school was closed, the family moved to the farm located at the end of Pearl Street, where he continued to live.  Joe was a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Army.

He married Bessie Bianchini on June 17, 1951 and would have celebrated their 66th anniversary in a month. Joe was a farmer all of his life. In 1960, he changed course and went into a restaurant business. Cruising became a new passion.

He was a 60 year plus member of "Sons of Italy", Guiseppe Verdi Lodge in Sparks. Also, Joe was a life member of "Veterans of Foreign Wars", post 1094, Yerington.

Joe was predeceased by his parents, brother Dante Lommori, and sister Lenna Aiazzi. He is survived by his wife (Bessie) , sisters (Jeanette Cunningham of Hawthorne, and Nancy Koehler of Yerington), and brother (Mario/Mike Lommori of Yerington). Also by many nieces and nephews.

A Rosary will be recited for Joe 7:00 pm Wednesday, May 24th at the Holy Family Catholic Church.  His  Funeral Mass will be held 11:30 am Thursday, May 25 at Holy Family Catholic Church.  Burial with military honors will be at Valley View Cemetery.  A reception will follow the service at the Catholic Center.
