Justine Flora Hicks died Monday evening at South Lyon Medical Center, Yerington from injuries received in an auto accident.  She was 80.

Justine was born in Schurz on April 4, 1939 the daughter of Louis and Lena (Benjamin) Murphy.

She graduated from Yerington High School and from Haskell Indian Junior College in Lawrence, Kansas.  She retired after forty years from the Walker River Paiute Smoke Shop.

She is survived by her husband, Arthur Hicks; her daughters, Natalie Tobey from Schurz and Cheryl Hicks from Albuquerque, New Mexico; her sisters, Arlene Lotus and Marjorie Frazier; her grandchildren, Eric Hicks and Yvette Hicks; and great grandchildren, Gabriele Nute Hicks, Rae Lynn Castillo, Angel Martinez and Anthony Martinez.  She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Eugene and daughter, Joni.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 22nd, 6 - 8:00 pm at the Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home, 25 Hwy 208 Yerington.  Her Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 28th at the Walker River Tribal Gym.  Her cremated remains will be buried ast the Schurz Cemetery.  Family and friends are invited to sign her online guest book at www.FRFH.net
