Karen Ann (Bainbridge) Booth passed away at her home on Friday, May 9, 2014. She was 75.
She was born in Benton, WI. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Platteville. Karen moved to Nevada to continue her teaching career in the late 1960's. Karen and Charles were married in April 1971. She taught for the Mineral County School District in both Hawthorne and later at Schurz Elementary. In her retirement, Karen enjoyed gardening, reading, and art. Throughout her life she taught others to enjoy and appreciate art, and she herself produced paintings, sculptures, and pottery. She was a devout Christian Scientist.
In addition to her parents, James and Beulah Bainbridge, Karen was preceded in death by her husband Charles Booth and her brother John Bainbridge. She is survived by her brother James Bainbridge (Mary-Margaret), her daughter Jennifer Laporte (Marc-Antoine), her son Charles Booth (Hillary Dashiell), and two grand-daughters Simone and Vivian Booth as well as her nieces and nephews.
In keeping with her wishes, no memorial service will be held and she will be cremated. Her cremated remains will be buried in the family plot at Valley View Cemetery in Yerington, Nevada and also in Benton, Wisconsin.
