Kathleen Marie Knight (Kathi) passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 9, 2013 in Yerington, Nevada. She was 59.

Kathi was born May 18, 1953 in Miami, Florida, the daughter of Mary and the late, John Gordon.

Kathi married David Knight in 1974 in Miami, and moved to Bogota, Columbia, where their sons, Chris and Jason were born in 1976, and 1978. Kathi lived with her family in Washington, D.C. as well as Bangkok, Thailand. She shared many wonderful and happy memories from those years. In 1983 they moved to San Diego, California.

In 1990 Kathi met her life partner, Lisa Zwick, of 23 years, and they continued on with many more adventures. Dealing blackjack for 7 years at Montgomery Pass Casino while living in Dyer, Nevada. Moving to Fort Mohave, Arizona where in 2003 they started their own business, The Cable Girls, where they installed low voltage cabling, phone systems, cameras and security systems. The business name she came up with, and always joked that "it was a margarita moment"! The business proved to be very successful, due in part to her intelligence, organizational skill, and fun and outgoing personality! In late 2010, despite the business still going strong, she decided that she was ready for a new adventure. She went to Murphy, North Carolina, where Mom and siblings live, for a few months to spend time visiting and reconnecting.

In March 2011, Kathi moved to Yerington, Nevada, where she fell in love with it's beauty. She was so excited to be hired on as the Transportation Driver for the Senior Center, where she touched and brightened many lives. In all of the places she lived, she made many friends who still remember her for the sense of fun and joy she brought to their lives.

Kathi was a great outdoor adventurer, she loved to go rockhounding, off roading to ghost towns, fishing, camping, and geocaching. She evjoyed taking her beloved dog, Mojo, to Weber Dam after work where they would spend hours in the water. Tole painting, crafts, and just recently wood carving, were some of her hobbies. She loved owning her own home, spending countless hours in her garden, landscaping, remodeling, and designing projects. She was an accomplished tennis player, even playing against Chris Evert. Kathi loved scuba diving, especially in the Cayman Islands, cruises, reading her Kindle, and playing many card and board games with family and friends.

She is survived by Lisa of Yerington, Nv., her mother Mary Ballew of North Carolina, two very beloved sons, Chris (Nikki) Knight of Bend Oregon, Jason Knight of Austin Texas, grandchildren; Lokesh, Rowan, Solar, and Sebastion, siblings, Mike (Karen) Gordon, Sue Gordon, Steve (Sandee) Gordon, Marianne (David) Snoke, Jim Gordon, nieces, nephews, cousins, and David (Patti) Knight.

The family would like to thank Jeanne, those who attended, and the many volunteers who helped make Kathi's beautiful memorial held at the Senior Center on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 possible. Thank you to all for the generous donations that will buy trees to be planted at her home in her memory.
