Kathryn M. Bryant (Auntie Marc) passed away on Wednesday morning, January 28, 2009 at the South Lyon Medical Center/Long Term Care facility in Yerington, Nevada. She was 103 Years 9 Months and 19 Days of age, and one of the last pioneers.
Kathryn was born in Shortsville, New York on April 9, 1905 the daughter of Daniel and Margaret (O'Connor) Guilfoyle.
She met her husband Murven (Slick) Bryant in New York , they moved back to Bridgeport and opened Slick's Court, which became a local and famous landmark, often housing people in the movie industry. She ran it for more than five decades and is today the location of the Silver Maple. She loved to travel and spent her 95th birthday in Ireland with her son, Daniel. She also loved to visit with friends and always made her rounds around town.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Jean Bryant Adams of Las Vegas; her nieces, Mary Jean Rowan of Rochester, NY and Lynda Bryant Pemberton; her nephews, William Amasa Bryant of Bridgeport, Loyd and Weston Adams of Las Vegas. Her friends and family remeber her love for singing and as a devout Catholic who spent a lot of her time and efforts volunteering at the Infant of Prague Catholic Church in Bridgeport and was a member of the Women's American Legion for 75 years. She loved to be in the outdoors having picnics and finding treasures with her son, Danny
A Memorial Mass will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009 at The Infant of Prague Catholic Church in Bridgeport, California. Inurnment will be at the Bridgeport Cemetery. A gathering will be held at Memorial Hall.
