Katie Havonne Marshall passed away peacefully on March 2, 2018 at Renown Medical Center in Reno.  She was 73.

She was born in Stockton, California on January 31, 1945 the daughter of Gordon and Edna Lance. She did attend school on and off as a child in Yerington, so she had life long ties to this great community and the people here. She even reconnected with old school mates when she moved back as an adult.

Katie came to Yerington in 1965 with her husband, Wendell and their first born, Daina. She had many talents and passions in her life Kids, bowling, soft ball and many years of stock car racing until she became pregnant with Heidi and retired!  She loved country music, dancing, and Elvis. She loved fishing, hunting and camping. She truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures such as chatting with friends and spending time with family.

In her early years in Yerington she worked with the Headstart program and made deep lifelong friendships in the Paiute community and Lyon county.  For the rest of her working career she worked at Casino West for Brian and was like a big sister to him, Dini's Lucky Club, and Topaz Lodge as a 21 dealer and pit boss. She had an uncanny ability as a 21 dealer and had a positive connection with people she met and worked with.  She truly loved the Casino industry and loved to play as well.

She is survived by her children; Guy Lance, Daina Lathrop, Kevin Marshall and Heidi Wright; her grandchildren, Kristopher, Jeremiah, Makaila, Bryce, Trent, Frankie, and Kendel; great grandchildren, Kirtus, Russell, Wyatt, and Savannah. Older sister Delores Sprouse and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

A Celebration of Life will be held 12:00 (Noon) - 5:00 pm on May 12, 2018 at the Homestead at 650 US Hwy 95A, Yerington.  Family and friends are invited to sign her guest book online at www.FRFH.net
