Our beloved Mother, Sister, Sister-In-Law, Grammie, Aunt, Great Aunt, Nurse, and wonderful Friend. Entered into Heaven's gates on February 5th, 2008. She was surrounded by many loved ones (present and on the cell phones!) at her bedside at Tahoe Pacific Hospital South Meadows in Reno, NV.

Kay was born on June 9, 1941 in Tonopah, NV., where her parents owned the one and only gas station in the town. In 1952, Kay and her family moved to Yerington, where she started school in the 5th grade. During her school years, she made many, many memories with friends that she treasured for a lifetime. Kay graduated from Yerington High School with the class of 1959. She then began nursing school and graduated in December of 1960. Also in December of 1960, Kay married her husband Billy Ray Marriott. They were married for 45 years. In October of 1961, they welcomed their first child, Carl Ray Marriott. Two years later in November 1963, they welcomed their second child, Jerri May (Marriott) Kirk. Ten and half years later, they welcomed their third child, Kristina Fay (Marriott) Homan.

Kay's first job was at Lyon Medical Center (SLMC) as a candy striper when she was still in high school. After graduation from nursing school she was employed again by Lyon Medical Center. During the many years that she worked for the hospital, she cared and nurtured many of the residents of Yerington and the surrounding areas. Kay then found her niche where she worked for many years with Betty Bryan in the Home Health Field. After leaving the Hospital some years later she started working for the Nevada Home Health where she worked for many, many years. She dearly loved the Home Health field and devoted her life to serving the needs of her patients, night and day, 24 hours a day. She would travel from Yerington to Smith or to Schurz or even to the Silver Springs area. Many of her days and nights were filled with sitting with patients and making them comfortable in their time of need. In 2000, Kay returned to work for South Lyon Medical Center where she worked in the Homemaking department as a Homemaker Coordinator. She worked there until she retired, just last year in January of 2007. She loved her work and loved her patients even more. She will be greatly missed.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Gerry Cooper, and her husband, Bill. She is survived by her son, Carl Marriott of Coleville, CA.; her daughters, Jerri Kirk(Bob) and Kristina Homan(Dustin), both of Yerington, NV,; her sister, Charlotte King(Myrl), also of Yerington, NV.; Her Grandkids, Travis, Kaycee, Toree, Kevin, Mary, Kami, Amanda, Tyler, and Trevor; brothers-in-laws, Lonnie, Jack, Arlis, and JC; sisters-in-law, Jo, Sandy, Beth, Lula, Linda, and Colleen. She is also survived by many, many special aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and wonderful lifelong friends.

Kay touched so many lives that nothing will ever fill the void. She will be greatly missed. Our community has lost an outstanding nurse and compassionate woman, but Heaven is rejoicing! We love you lots Grammie.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 10, 2008 at 3:00PM at Yerington Vineyard Fellowship Church 307 Broadway. Reception following at Casino West Convention Center.
