On April 15, 2008 Kennie Rae Keats entered into eternal life at his home in Yerington. He was surrounded by his family and friends.

Kennie was born in Reno, Nevada the son of Michael and Debra Keats and the oldest of twins on Mother's Day, May 11, 1986. He was a 2004 Yerington High. He was a member of the Yerington Paiute Tribe, and was active in the local dance group, the wind Spirit Dancers; winning numerous dance competitions throughout the powwow circuit. Kennie was also an active participant in the local co-ed softball league and the Dresslerville (Gardnerville) men's basketball league.

He is survived by his parents; his sisters, Shannon Keats and Karla Keats of Choctaw, Mississippi, Michelle Lynn Keats and twin sister, Kathie Keats and his brother, Michael Keats, Jr. all of Yerington; 12 nieces and nephews; his grandmothers, sophie Smith of Yerington and Verna Plummer of Schurz and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Sunday, April 20th, 2008 at the Yerington Paiute Tribal Gym with graveside services to follow at the tribal section of the Valley View Cemetery. A dinner and reception is to follow the services at the Tribal Gym.

Pallbearers are to be Cameron Smart, Alan Roberts, Levi Hernandez, Heiny Olvera, Theodore Plummer and Avery Lopez, Jr. Ayo Hoferer and Shawn Isom. Honorary Pallbearers are to be Alex & Stven Keats, Tyrell Furst, Miguel Padilla, Nolan Snooks, Kip Simpson, Joseph Rogers, Norman Bobb and Daniel Savage.
