Lena Buonamici passed away on October 22, 2010 at her son's home in Reno, Nevada surrounded by her loving family. She was 97.

Lena was born on October 7, 1913 the daughter of Peter and Teresa Savini in Bodie California.
Several years later she and her family moved to Yerington Nevada. In 1935 she
married A.R.( Bimbo ) Buonamici and together they raised three children, Peter, Deanna and Donald. Lena and her husband owned and operated the Central Bar in Smith Valley, Nevada for many years and when they retired in 1965 they moved back to Yerington.

Lena was a kind and gentle woman who faced every adversity with
resolve and hope. Her smile would warm your heart. Her passion was cooking
and her greatest joy was cooking for her family.

She was preceded in death by
her husband Bimbo, her son Peter, sisters Georgie and Elsie and brothers John and Sam. She is survived by her children, Deanna and son-in-law Lanny Jury and
Don and daughter-in-law Michele Buonamici. Her four Grandchildren; Lori Moore, Gary Jury, Jill Jones, and Jeff McCargar; her seven Great
Grandchildren, Sarah and Emma Jury, Hayley, Justin and Cody McCargar, and Porter
and Ella Jones. Brody McCargar of San Antonio Tx. is her first Great Great Grandson; her sisters Lola Frade, Teresa Nesmith and
Della Carney and brother Geno Savini.

A private family graveside service was held at the Valley View Cemetery and a Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 12:00 Noon at her son's home, Don Buonamici 3445 Mario Road Reno, Nevada.
