Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Leona Agnes Ann Waldaias
announces her passing. Leona passed away peacefully at her home in Yerington on Monday, January 25, 2016 surrounded by her family and friends. She was 87.
She was born in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of Anna and Leo Wambaja.
Leona came to Yerington in the early 1970's and worked for Gina Perry at the Intown Theatre, then worked at A&D Textiles until her retirement. She spent several years volunteering at the Yerington Senior Center.
Leona is survived by her children, Gordon (Shelley) Waldaias, Kathy Crispino, Tracy (Michael) Martolin, Rodger (Nancy) Waldaias; numerous grand & great grandchildren; her brother, Howard Wambaja; twin sister, Louise Ernst, sister, Shirley Ross and several nieces and nephews. She preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Gordon.
A Rosary will be held 12:30 pm Saturday, February 13 at the Holy Family Catholic Church followed at 1:00 pm by a Prayer Funeral Service. A reception will follow the service at the Catholic Center.
