Lola Acciari Lerg, 79, of Smith Valley, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Renown Medical Center in Reno, Nevada.
She was born on July 11, 1933 the daughter of Pasquale Acciari and Palma (Lommori) Acciari in Yerington, Nevada. She grew up and attended schools in Smith Valley. In 1948, Lola married her husband of 58 years, Roy Lerg Jr., and shortly after, they moved to Puente, CA. They returned to Smith Valley in 1951 and began their lives as Nevada farmers, purchasing their own farm in 1960. Lola worked for 10 years at South Lyon Health Center as a bookkeeper.
Lola enjoyed traveling with her husband, Roy, to Portugal, Spain, France, and Italy, where they were able to locate and visit some of Lola's relatives. They traveled the U.S. from coast to coast on two separate occasions and discovered how "blessed by the Lord" America has been. For 22 years, they spent their winters in Arizona, Puerto Penasco, and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. During these travels, many great friendships and memories were made.
Lola's creative side was evident in her paintings and needlepoint work that decorated her beautiful home, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family and sharing the Lord's love.
Lola is survived by her daughter, Jeanne (Lawrence) Thompson of Smith; son, Roy (Debbie) Lerg of Smith; sisters, Judy Shope of Smith and Madeline Acciari of Reno; grandsons, Matt Bryant of Reno; Beau (Emily) Bryant of Santa Barbara; Emmet Lerg of Smith; Sarah Thompson of Smith; Lawrence (Nicole) Thompson of Fernley, Lowell Thompson of Texas, Patrick (Bonnie) Griener of Reno; great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
