Lorna Ruth Johnston passed away on Sunday morning, January 8, 2017 at Renown Medical Center in Reno. She was 84.

Lorna was born in Seattle, Washington September 9, 1932, the daughter of Guy and Ruth (Pickerill) Derby.

Lorna had lived in Yerington since 2009. She loved music and was also a piano instructor, she also enjoyed reading and watching movies.. Lorna had volunteered at the Lyon County Museum Thrift Store. She had a wide circle of friends and was very much loved.

She is survived by her children, Shelley Waldaias, RuthAnn Johnston William C. Johnston, III, and Daniel Johnston; her 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a grandson.

Her Memorial Service will be held 11:30 am Sunday, January 22nd at the Yerington Vineyard Fellowship Church, 307 Broadway Avenue Yerington. A fellowship will follow the service at the Chism Hall.
