Lucille Marie Simpson passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at the Mason Valley Residence in Yerington, Nevada. She was 95.

Lucille was born at her family home in Yerington on April 1, 1920 the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Farrias) Ponte.

Lucille lived her entire live in Yerington. Her passion was her beautiful yard and flower garden. She also loved feeding the native birds that shared her garden, and in her quiet time she enjoyed word puzzles. She went to work for the Lyon County Sheriff Department in 1966, working in several different capacities including, dispacther, secretary and civil deputy. She retired in 1979. Lucille enjoyed her time with the LCSO making many friends and lasting relationships.

Lucille is survived by her three sons, Jerry of Yerington, Richard (Karen) of Yerington and Wayne (Debbie) of Challis, Idaho; 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Lois and her three sisters, Irene, Lorraine and Adeline.

A Rosary will be held 7:00 pm Thursday, September 10th at the Holy Family Catholic Church. Her funeral Mass will be held 11:00 am Friday, September 11th at the Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will be in the family plot at Valley View Cemetery.
