Marjorie Jeane McGovern passed away on Sunday morning, May 10, 2009 at the South Lyon Medical Center in Yerington. She was 87.

She was born in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania on February 21, 1922 the second daughter of Arch and Martha (Gibb) Sharp. Her brother, Bobbie was killed in WW II at the 'Battle of the Bulge' Her other sisters, Shirley passed away in 1973 and Ruthie in 2006. She married Walter McGovern on November 24, 1948 in Dunedin, Florida and were married for over 56 years. He passed away in Yerington on August 26, 2004.

Jeane worked as a registered nurse during World War II in Pennsylvania moving to Florida in 1948 where she met Walter. Both moved to Antioch, California in 1953 where she worked with Delta Memorial Hospital as an RN. She retired April 1976 and moved to Magalia, California and then in 1995 they moved to Bridgeport, California and then they moved to Yerington, Nevada June 2003. Jeane spent the rest of her years living at the Mason Valley residence in Yerington

She is survived by her son Robert Mark McGovern of Yerington.

A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, May 17, 2009 at the Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home 25 Hwy 208 Yerington
