MABEL GLORIA SANTOS passed away from this life at South Lyon Medical Center in Yerington, Nevada on Sunday, May 3, 2014.  Mabel was just three days shy of her 94th birthday.  She was loved by all who had the privildge of knowing this kind, wonderful lady.

Mabel was born on May 6, 1920 the daugher of Sevro and Mary (Souza) Soares in Newman, California.

Mabel married Joaquin (Jack) Santos on November 1937.  They had two children, Paul and Jacqueline.

Mabel worked various jobs while taking care of her family, the longest was at K-Mart where she made many friends for life.  After the death of her beloved husband Jack in 1982 she continued to live in Milpitas, California.  She soon realized that she was alone and decided to move closer to her family and moved to Nevada.  She loved Yerington and lived with her son, Paul the first year and then moved into town.  Mabel loved to bowl and she bowled in two leagues for several years.  She made many special friends while bowling.

She is survived by her son, Paul and his wife Christena Santos of Yerington and a daughter Jacqueline Marie Trueblood of Gardnerville; by her 3 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.  She was very proud of all her family.

A Memorial Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 am Monday, June 2, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Milpitas, California  and inurnment will follow at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.

Mabel , Mom, Grandma and Aunt will be greatly missed.  She was a very special lady!  She left a final message to her beloved family and friends, "Don't cry for me, I've had a good life"
