Manuel Bengochia passed away early Monday morning, February 4, 2008 at Renown Medical Center in Reno. He had been sick for sometime and died peacefully in his sleep with his family at his side. He was 58.
Manuel was born in Schurz, Nevada on November 10, 1949 the son of Frank and Beartrice Bengochia.
He loved hunting and fishing at East Walker and camping in his teepee with friends and family all over Nevada. His free spirit took him many places because he loved the outdoors.
He leaves behind his sisters, Thelma Karow of Yerington, Pam Munoz of Yerington; his nephew Anthony and his wife Yolonda Bengochia and their children Angel, Jazmin, and Anthony, Larry and his wife Faye Fleury and their children, Josh, Aron and William and his wife Kavina Chandler; and nieces Polly and husband Juan Conejo and their son Aaron of Yerington, Tina Chandler, Nicole and husband Craig Platerio and their children, Rachelle and Craig Gardner; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by two infant brothers, his father and mother.
A duel funeral service for Manuel and Gerald Soukup will be held 10:00 am Saturday, February 9, 2008 at the Yerington Tribal Gym.
Viewing will be held at the service. Burial will be at Valley View Cemetery. A dinner will be held after the service at the tribal gym.
