Obituary
Margaret 'Margie' Louise Giovacchini passed away Tuesday morning, March 2, 2010 after a brief illness at the Carson Tahoe Hospital in Carson City, Nevada. She was 69.
Margie was born in Smith Valley on February 10, 1941 the daughter of Ernest and Irma (Altman) Giovacchini she was the thirteenth of seventeen children. She was raised a farm girl in Smith Valley, attended Smith Valley public school, and graduated from Smith Valley High School in 1959.
Margie was preceded in death by brothers Charles, Louis, Ernie, John, Richie, and Roy, and sisters Dorlene and Salene. She is survived by brothers, Lloyd of Smith Valley, Donnie of Fernley, and Dave of Boise, ID.; sisters, Eda(Frederickson) of Lodi, CA., Olga(Larson) of Carson City, NV.,
Elsie(Tietjen) of Reno, NV., Helen(Rieger) of Las Vegas, NV., and Irma(Crookshanks) of Carson City, NV., and numerous, beloved, nieces and nephews across the country.
Upon graduation from high school, Margie worked at First National Bank in Carson City; tried her hand at business ownership by opening a small dress shop; and finished her working career with the State of Nevada Rural Clinics when she retired.
Margie was a avid gardener and liked nothing better than to get her hands into the rich soil planting and caring for her garden. She was also a devoted member and volunteer of St. Gall Catholic Church in Gardnerville where she had many friends who will miss her dearly.
A Memorial Mass will be held 11:00am on Friday, March 12, 2010, at St. Gall Catholic Church in Gardnerville, NV., A Rosary will be recited prior to the Mass at 10:30 am, with a reception to follow in the hall. A private family service will be held at her inurnment at Hillcrest Cemetery in Smith Valley.
