Obituary

Marvin Grulli passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 3rd, at home in Carson City, surrounded by family. Marvin was 88.

He was born in Yerington, Nevada on August 29th, 1923, to Manuel and Agnes (Dini) Grulli. He played football and basketball and attended Yerington High School. He was an avid bowler, golfer, hunter and gardener.

A charter member of America's "Greatest Generation," Marvin proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He returned to Yerington after WWII and opened "Grulli Motors" with his brother Ace, where they sold and services Ford Motor Company products. He received numerous sales and customer service awards along the way. He retired after 40 years in the car business. During retirement he spent time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren whom he so dearly loved. He was proud of his heritage. He spoke Italian fluently, and was a fantastic cook of all things Italian. He loved sharing his cooking with family and friends, especially making raviolis and hand-crafted salads.

He served his community like he served his country. He was a city councilman and an active member of several service organizations. He was a Eucharistic minister and volunteer at the Holy Family Parish. He devoted many hours visiting the sick and bringing them communion.

Marvin is survived by his sons, Michael (Mary), Marvin (Lisa) and Ace (Andrea); his daughters, Deirdre (Dennis) Pederson and Morna (Brett) Edmunds; his sister, Dorothy Jean Ahern; 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends both in the US and Italy. He is predeceased by his parents, Manuel and Agnes; his wife of 65 years, Felicia Grulli; his brother Ace and sister Mamie.
