Michael William Hardesty passed away at his home with his family by his side on Thursday, January 30, 2014. He was 33.
Michael was born in Lodi, California on September 8, 1980 the son of Gary and Karen Kay (Shelley) Hardesty.
Michael who was also known as 'Farmboy' graduated from Yerington High School in 1998.
He was a veteran having served in the United States Air Force. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, the Air Force Overseas Long Tour Ribbon, Air Force Service Award and Air Force Maintenance Award.
Michael enjoyed off road and desert racing, hiking, and backpacking. He also won many awards for his racing including the Cal Trans Moto Cross, the Yerington 300, the Sun Star Spring Classic.
Michael is survived by his parents, Gary & Kay Hardesty; his sisters, Christina and her husband Dustin Applegate and Laura Elizabeth Hardesty; his nephew, Jack William Applegate; his grandparents, Donald and Earline Prachar and Jean Hardesty. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Paul Hardesty.
A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, February 6th at 7:00 pm at the Holy Family Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 am Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will be at Elm Tree Cemetery. Following the service at the church a reception will be held at the Catholic Center.
