Obituary

Miguel 'Mike' Antonio Segura passsed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at Continuecare Hospital in Carson City. He was 89.

Mike was born in Cerro, New Mexico on September 29, 1919 the son of Pablo and Marla Segura. Mike was a Veteran of World War II having served in the Philippines with the US Army. He had married Thelma Brown. They had lived in Hawthorne for many years and then moved to Yerington in 1962 where he and his wife owned and operated the local butchershop. Mike had volunteered with the local little league program for years and had also served as a Volunteer Fireman.

He is survived by his sons, Marlon and his wife Mary Segura of Michigan and Gary and his wife Dawna Brown of Schurz; his 8 grandchildren, Stephanie Brown, Billie Rose Brown, Gary Brown, Jr., Tyler Brown, Katie Brown, Mateo Segura, Jeremy Segura and Kristopher Segura; 5 great grandchildren, Steven Brown, Myleah Brown, Jeidan Brown, Juliah Brown and Ysela Brown; and by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Thelma; his sons, Stephen, Dean and Tony; by his brothers, Abe and Ross and his sisters, Ida Casuas and Cordilia Garcia.

His Memorial service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, October 3rd at the Yerington Vineyard Fellowship Church 307 Broadaway Yerington
