Longtime Yerington resident Nancy Rand Aiazzi passed away Friday, May 31, 2024 at the South Lyon Meical Center. She was 90 years of age.

Nancy was born July 16, 1933 in Perryton, Texas to William Ray and Atha Chester Grabeel and was raised in Texas, attending Baylor University.

She met her first husband Paul Rand while he was in the Air Force and they were married in 1954. The family moved to Sparks, NV which was their home for many years. Nancy was a homemaker/mom for most of her life.

She moved to Yerington and was married to Roy Aiazzi for a period of time.

Nancy was active in the local community as a member of Beta Sigma Phi, the Holy Family Catholic Church and the South Lyon Medical Center Auxiliary. She enjoyed traveling and golf with her friends and loved her puppies.

She was predeceased by her parents, both husbands, an infant daughter Jerri Ann Rand and a son Larry Rand.

Survivors include her son Richard (Amy) Rand of Yerington; daughter Katheleen Rand of Sparks; and grandchildren Chistopher (Winter) Rand of Orovada, NV, Matthew (Michelle) Rand of Bonanza, OR, James and Rebecca Rand of Moscow, ID, Nichole (Stan) Durst of Reno, NV, Steven (Kayla) Rand of Reno, NV, and Chanda (Matt) Cleveland of Norfolk, VA. The list also includes 8 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter.

A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 8 at the Valley View Cemetery in Yerington.
