Norma Marie Pursel slipped peacefully from the loving arms of her husband and family on March 14 after enduring a lengthy illness. She was 84.

Norma was born in Yerington on April 6, 1923 the daughter of Ugo and Dina (Galantuomini) Giorgi, Sr.. She spent her youth attending Yerington schools and graduated from Yerington High School in 1941. She married Norman Pursel on December 28, 1947 and they had two sons.

Norma found her greatest joy in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and was also cherished by all of them. She was an avid bowler and bowled competively well into her 80's winning numerous trophies and awards. Spending time in her kitchen cooking and baking brought her and her family great joy. She mastered the art of needlepoint and shared her talents freely with her friends and family.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Norman; her sons, Delbert (Jill) of Fallon and Jim (Vicki) of Minden; brothers, Evo (Maxine) Giorgi of Camarillo, CA, Ugo (Florence) Giorgi, Jr. of Yerington and Baldo (Sandy) Giorgi of Topaz, CA; 6 grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Elmo.

A Rosary will be recited 7:00 pm Wednesday, March 19th at the Holy Family Catholic Church 37 North West Street Yerington. The funeral Mass will be held 11:00 am Thursday, March 20th at Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will be at the Valley View Cemetery.
