Obituary

Otto Albert Gisler passed away at his home in Yerington, Nevada on Thursday afternoon, January 26, 2012. He was 91.

Otto was born in Esparto, California on July 25, 1920 the son of Carl and Josephine (Blochliger) Gisler.

Otto worked over 20 years for the City and County of San Francisco Water and Power on the Hetch Hetchy Water Project. He loved the land and was also a rancher. For the past 12 years he ranched in Yerington. He had moved to Yerington from Groveland, California.

Otto is survived by his son, Jack (Rozann) Gisler; his daughters, Judy Hartley (Kent Wilson), Joan Gisler (Buck Lemmon) and Janet (Steven) Crook; his brother, Carl Gisler and sister, Ann Smith; his granchildren, Shaun and Velina Crook, Russell and Kay Crook, John and Donna Gisler and Justin and Sandi Gisler; his great grandchildren, Gregory and Walker Crook, Tate Crook, Hunter Gisler and Austin Gisler. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Marge Steinweden, Tillie Arsenio and Josephine Gritton; his brother, Leo Gisler; his sons, Ronald and Donald Gisler; and his companion of over 28 years, Davette Crane.

Otto's memorial service will be held 1:00 pm Thursday, February 9, 2012 at the Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home, 25 Hwy 208 Yerington.

A Celebration of Life will be held in California on Saturday, February 18th at 11:00 am the Sonora Fairgrounds Manzanita Building.
