Patricia Anne Chesarek passed away peacefully the morning of Monday, January 10, 2011 in Pleasant Hill, California at the age of 89.
Born March 17, 1921 in Eddyville, Nebraska to Francis Patrick and Mary Veronica McTygue, she graduated from Eddyville High School in 1938 and continued her education at the Nebraska State Teachers College in Kearney. After graduation in 1940 she taught for four years in Dawson County, NE and later spent three years working for the FBI in Washington D.C. On November 27, 1947, she married Henry Louis Chesarek. She and Henry made their home in Weed Heights and Yerington, Nevada for over 50 years, where Henry worked as an accountant for Anaconda Copper, and there they raised their son, John, and daughter, Theresa. Patricia continued to utilize her training by serving for many years as a substitute teacher in the Yerington and Smith Valley school systems. Born on St. Patrick's Day, Patricia was extremely proud of her Irish heritage, loved Irish music and once had the good fortune to travel to Ireland. She was an active member of her church and was always helping out her friends and neighbors. Patricia was an avid reader whose bookshelves were never big enough, and enjoyed traveling, playing bridge and being with her family.
Survivors include her two children, John (Susan) Chesarek of Martinez, CA, and Theresa (Dan) Caserza of Sunnyvale, CA; five grandchildren--Tim, Melanie and Claire Caserza, Sara Wachter and Amy Chesarek; brothers Bob (Jean) McTygue of Overton, NE, Jim McTygue of Eddyville, NE and Mike McTygue of Sacramento, CA; sister Anna Marie Brennan of Overton, NE and sister-in-law Dolores McTygue of Sumner, NE; and many nieces and nephews. Patricia was preceded in death by her husband Henry.
A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, August 6th at the Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home 25 Hwy 208 Yerington. Her cremated remains will be buried at the Valley View Cemetery.
