Randolph Brett Sargent passed away on Monday afternoon, January 4, 2021 at the Renown Regional Medical Center. He was 49 years old.

Randolph was born in Schurz, Nevada on January 1, 1972, the only child of Sandra (Stone) and Robert Sargent. While his parents worked, he was raised in Carson City, Nevada and graduated from Carson High School. He attended Haskell University. He also completed a heavy equipment training through the Washoe tribe and obtained his CDL.  Randolph married Dena Pitts in October 2006, they resided together in Dresslerville, Nevada. Randolph was a jack of all trades. He was a painter, did mason work, carpentry, worked for the City of Carson in public works, and was a Recreation Director for the Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California. Randolph was a well-respected member of the Dresslerville community. He was an inspiration to many. He had a heart to see people succeed and did what he could to always lend a helping hand. Randy was a great athlete and participated in basketball and softball. He traveled the nation playing in native tournaments. In his later years he was coaching youth basketball and softball.

He is survived by his father Robert Sargent; wife Dena Sargent, and his daughter Kali Sargent; and his sister Laurie Thom (Yerington). He was preceded in death by his mother Sandra Stone Sargent, grandparents Marjorie and Thurman Stone, and Bernice and Robert Sargent and many aunts, uncles and cousins from many states.

A memorial graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, January 23, 2021, at the Valley View Cemetery – Paiute Tribal Cemetery Section in Yerington, Nevada.
