Randy Brinkley was born on his Grandpa Roland's 50th birthday, June 20th, 1985 in Carson City, Nevada. He already had that sparkle of humor that carried him throughout life. He left this world on Monday, September 15th, 2014 at his home in Elko, Nevada.
He grew up in Yerington, Nevada graduating from Yerington High School with Honors in 2003. He had a passion for learning that was fueled by his amazing teachers inspiring him to reach for the stars. All who knew him remembered that he was friends with many and loved by all…even if you wanted to slap him upside his head sometimes.
Randy's passions included spending time on the ranch with his Grandpa Chuck riding horses and experiencing ranch life in Mason Valley and throughout the West Coast. Grandpa Chuck wanted it noted that he did not teach Randy to drive. Randy also explored the fishing holes of Nevada and California with his Grandpa Roland who would not let him in the boat with a ten-gallon hat, and also wanted it noted that Randy's favorite lure was a white spinner bait and that he too had no part in teaching Randy to drive. His other adventures showed him to be a great golfer, a mean poker player, a supreme washer board player and anyone who ever played a board game or sport with him knew if he called you a cheater you were about to beat him.
He is survived by his parents, Barbi & Mark Rowley and Kevin Brinkley & Julie Ray, his brother Adam Rowley and his sister's Arianna & Jordan Brinkley and Jaclynn Ray, Grandparents Chuck & Donna Brinkley and Vi & Roland Adams, Aunts and Uncles, Diana Lillard, Denny & Toni Kennedy, Bill Brinkley, Chuck & Angie Adams, Kelly & Bill Fraser, Charis & Steve Derbyshire and cousins and close friends too numerous to list but all who loved and were better for having Randy in their lives.
There is a Celebration of Randy on Saturday, September 20th starting at 1pm until 4pm at the Pioneer Crossing Convention Center in Yerington, Nevada. In lieu of flowers please send donations to The Josh Farler Foundation, PO Box 73 Yerington, NV 89447 or your charity of choice in Randy's name.
Randy loved his family and friends and would never pass up an opportunity to tell those he loved, that he loved them. He was quick witted and full of genuine compassion for others. He could have changed the world with his smile. Randy, we love your face.
