Ray Aiazzi passed away Sunday, May 20, 2012 at the Palomar Memorial Hospital in Escondido, california. He was 87.
Ray was a native Nevadan born in Yerington on January 20, 1925 the son of Emilio and Vanelia (Quilici) Aiazzi. He attended the University of Nevada (Reno) during World War II.
He was a prominent businessman in Yerington from the 1950's to the 1990's, he owned Thrifty Market and worked in the butcher shop. He owned and managed 17 separate companies and corporations throughout his life time. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had volunteered for many years as a fireman for the Yerington Fire Department, was a member of the 20 - 30 Club, The Lions Club and was involved with the local little league program. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and traveling. He moved to Romona, California in 2003.
Ray is survived by his wife, Eloise; his Daughters, Kaylene (Mark) Weber, Cindy (Bud) Collins, Diana, Peggy and Kim; his grandchildren, Haley, Logan, and Paige; his brothers, Leno Aiazzi and Reno "Gus" Aiazzi and sister, Adena Pacini. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Yolanda and sons, Jerrry and Randy.
In keeping with his wishes he will be cremated and his cremains will be buried at the Valley View Cemetery. There is no service scheduled at this time. However, Family and Friends are invited to sign his online guest book at www.FRFH.net, and sympathy cards may be sent to Eloise from this site.
