Richard Bryan passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family in Yerington, Nevada on March 5, 2021.  He battled cancer for almost five years with the courage of a warrior.

Richard loved his family as much as anyone could and was always the protector.  While hunting and fishing were lifelong passions, in later years he developed an extreme passion for old cars.  He loved restoring cars from the 1920's.

Born in Yerington, Nevada in 1943 to Vernon and Ruth Bryan, Richard grew up on a ranch in Smith Valley, Nevada with two sisters and three brothers.  After schooling, Richard made his living as a mechanic and service manager.  He was a member of the Yerington Volunteer Fire Department starting in the 1960's, serving in various offices of that group for many years.  He later enjoyed helping where he could as a retired member.  Richard married Nikki Newell in 1969.  They purchased the Union 76 service station (Rich's Car Care) and In Town Motel which they owned until 2003.  In the 1990's, he became a farmer at the Mason Valley Wildlife Management area.  During that time, he was also the manager at the Sunrise Ranch and feed lot.  Richard retired in 2001 after an accident with a bull at the feed lot and then the old cars and family filled his time.

Richard is survived by his wife Nikki Bryan, daughter Barbara (Jim) Menesini, daughter Bonnie (Mike) Bobrick, grandchildren Brandon Thomas, Brittany Thomas, Brooke Menesini, Blair Menesini, Carlie Bobrick, Casey Bobrick, great grandchildren Natalie Thomas and Morgan Thomas, sister Vickie (Jerry) Schmiedeberg, brother Byron (Marcia) Bryan, and numerous nieces and nephews.  He is predeceased by both of his parents, his sister Delores, his brother Buddy, and his brother Bob.

Richard leaves a huge hole in our hearts and will be missed terribly.  A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.  Family and friends are invited to sign Richard's online guest book at www.FRFH.net
