Obituary

Robert B. 'Tank' Williams passed away Wednesday afternoon, May 9, 2007 at the South Lyon Medical Center, Yerington. He was 65.

He was born in Yerington on September 26, 1941 the son of Ed and Eunice (Dick) Williams. Tank lived his entire live in Yerington. He married Dora Villegas in Reno, Nevada. Tank was involved in stock car racing at the Rattlesnake Raceway in Fallon for over 18 years. Also, Tank was involved with the demolition derby in Yerington for over 6 years. He was honored by the Nevada Racing Association for his years of participation. He served as a council member for the Yerington Piaute Tribe for numerous years. He enjoyed fishing, guitar playing and was heavily involved in the lives of his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Dora of Yerington; his children, Arthur Williams of Carson City, Anthony (Krista) Williams of Carson City, Sheila (Jeff) Dittrick of Savannah, Georgia, Deborah (Richard) Beemer of Carson City, Russell (Kate) Williams of Sacramento, California, Toni Harrison of Schurz, Kathleen (John) Pierce of Cheney, Washington; his sister, Edrena Mailman of Shiprock, New Mexico; 20 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Father, his sons John Williams and Frank Vallejo, Jr..

A graveside service will be held 10:00 am Tuesday, May 15th, at the Valley View Cemetery with Pastor Ernie Hopper officiating.
