Robert Cole Garcia

Our Beloved Son, Brother, and Friend, Robert Cole Garcia was born on August 13, 2007, in Carson City, Nevada to Wayne and Valerie Garcia. The angels received him on January 9, 2026, in Yerington, Nevada. He was 18 years old.

Robert is survived by his parents Wayne and Valerie Garcia, brothers Aiden, Chase, Bradley, sister Yesenia, and little sister, Elva, grandparents Lance Hanberg, Susan Lewis, and Geraldine Garcia.

He was a lifelong resident of Yerington where he attended Yerington High School and was a member of the Yerington High School Band where he played the clarinet and guitar. He enjoyed being with his family and friends and loved working at the Boys and Girls Club and at the movie theatre. His hobbies included Lego building, fishing, camping, swimming, off-roading or cruising in his truck, cornhole, bowling, shooting guns, playing his PlayStation 5, and just hanging out.

Robert’s charm, humor, quick wit, and infectious smile had a positive influence on anyone who crossed paths with him. The impact that he had on the youth, not only at the Club, but in school, showed how unique he truly was. His gifts and contributions to this community will be missed and remembered for many years to come.

A viewing is to be held at the Freitas Rupracht Funeral home on Friday, January 16,2026 from 6-8 pm and is open to any and all community members.

His celebration services will be held at The Boys & Girls Club, 124 North Main Street Yerington on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 11:00 am. The family has requested that all those who attending to wear bright colors, no black. Following the service burial will be at the Valley View Tribal Cemetery.

A potluck style luncheon is scheduled after the services. If you are able to bring a dish, last names beginning in A-H please bring side dishes, names I-P please bring main dishes, and names Q-Z please bring desserts. There will also be a link to view the live feed from the services posted on the Boys & Girls Club YouTube channel or Social Media page.

The family is requesting donations in lieu of flowers to the Mason Valley Boys and Girls Club, the Lyon County Sheriff's K-9 Unit or the Mason Valley Fire Department.  Please note that any flowers brought to the service are welcomed but will be donated to the senior services facilities in Yerington after the services have been concluded
