Robert John Menesini 'Bob' passed away at his home in Yerington on Monday morning, August 4, 2014 after a struggle with cancer. He was 55.

Bob was born in Yerington, Nevada on July 22, 1959 the son of Richard and Joyce (Craig) Menesini. He graduated from Yerington High School in 1977. He always spoke fondly of YHS football and his childhood friends.

Many know him from his time working as a UPS driver. He was gregarious and always smiled to see friends, old and new. Based on his fascination with electronics and computers, he started two businesses in Yerington: The Phone Booth, and Tele-Net. There, he supported his family through electronics repair and sales, computer repair, and internet service. He was enthralled with discovering the way electronics and machinery operated, and would regularly dismantle them to learn how they worked. People who knew Bob's intelligence gave him the name "MacGyver". Bob was a believer in community, and regularly supported and participated in educational programs at YES, YIS, and YHS.

His love for his wife and two sons showed immensely, he never missed one event his boys were involved in. Bob played the guitar and instilled a love of music into his children. He enjoyed golfing and fishing. On many occasions, he could be found in one of his Hawaiian shirts listening to Jimmy Buffet and holding a good cigar in his teeth.

He is survived by his wife, Rita Menesini; his two sons, Ben and daughter-in-law Justyne Menesini and Ricky Menesini; his mother, Joyce Casler; his brother Jerry Menesini and sister-in-law Renee; his sister Nadine Menesini Boschert and brother-in-law Gerry; his brother-in-consideration, Jeff Matheson and his beloved extended family, and countless friends he considered family. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Menesini. His kind heart and mind will leave a heavy absence in our lives and our community.

A Celebration of his life and pot-luck dinner will be held 5:30 pm Friday, August 8, 2014 at the family home, 8 Pauma Ct. Yerington. His cremated remains will be buried in the family plot at a later date.
