IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert Raymond
Nagel
August 7, 1934 – April 27, 2018
Robert Nagel, 83, of Yerington, Nevada died April 27, 2018. He was born to Henry and Helen (Spezzi) Nagel, August 7, 1934, in Yerington. Bob married Shirley (Watson Madewell), the love of his life, on October19,1968 in Sparks, Nevada.
Bob joined the US Army and became a valued member of the 11
th
Airborne unit in 1954. He worked on the family dairy farm, chauffeured for Anaconda, worked at the Lyon County Road Department and for Circle-N during his life.
Bob had many passions: growing prize-winning roses, traveling around the US and abroad, driving corvettes, telling jokes, enjoying life, and playing with his children, grandchildren and his great granddaughter. His nickname, P We, may have described his stature but in no way referred to his charisma, fun-loving nature, his ability to pop a joke into any conversation, or the volume of his infectious laugh. He loved being around people so much that he had a hard time retiring. He returned to "jobs" and would like to shop at Scolari's on the common shopping day to remain connected to people. Bob never met a stranger and considered everyone a friend.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Helen Nagel, and his sister, Diane Nagel. Bob is survived by his wife, Shirley; children Kenny Nagel of Yerington, Mark (Margaret) Madewell of Manteca, California, and Jennifer (Bill) McCollum of Twin Falls, Idaho; grandchildren Christene Madewell of Yerington, and Mark (Amanda) Madewell of Oakdale, California; great granddaughter Catalina Madewell of Yerington; and godson Ulisses Hernandez of Yerington.
Bob's graveside service with Military honors will be 11:00 am at Valley View Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to sign his online guest book at
