Obituary

Robert Ralph Johnson passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2013 at his home in Schurz, Nevada. He was 86.

Robert was born in Round Valley (Bishop), California on October 7, 1926 the eldest son of Robert and Deborah (Brown) Johnson. Bob's youth was spent in Schurz and he graduated from Fallon High School. He was also a veteran having served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II. Bob met Gladys Marie Gummow and they were married in Sparks, NV.

Bob and Gladys made their first home in Carson City and in 1961 they moved to Alaska. They returned and settled in Bob's hometown of Schurz in 1977.

Bob was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys; his ten children and niece, Sigrid Kohler, Elizabeth (Wendell) Rigby, Robert (Sandy), Norman (Janice), Deborah, John (Ginger), George, Sterling, James (Laura), Mary, Loren (Tori); his 29 Grandchildren and 44 great grandchildren; his two brothers, Bill and Wayne Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.

Bob's funeral service will be held 10:00 am, Friday, June 21, 2013 at the Schurz Tribal Gym in Schurz. Burial will be in the Schurz Cemetery. The family will meet friends at the gym beginning at 9:00 am on Friday prior to the service.
