Robert Edward Rambeau passed away on April 4, 2009 at the South Lyon Medical Center in Yerington, Nevada. He was 64.
Robert was born in Stewart, Nevada, the eldest son of Wallace and Bertha Rambeau of Bishop, California. He was raised in Smith Valley, Nevada where he worked as a heavy equipment operator for many years for Richard Fulstone. He met is future wife Evangeline Reymers whom he married in Carson City, Nevada on October 5, 1984. They made their family and home in Yerington, Nevada. Robert worked for several local Ranchers, Larry Masini, John Poli, David Fulstone, Carol Masini, and also for the Yerington Paiute Tribe and the Anaconda Mine. When he could no longer work because of health problems, it left him more time for his favorite hobbies such as, pinenut picking, cooking, fishing, cutting wood, watching boxing and bullriding, going to tractor pulls and the Reno Fair and Rodeo and eating at Baldini's. He loved country music, including George Strait and enjoyed leather crafts and trips with Tribal Elders to Apple Hill.
His main priorities were spending quality time with his only grandson, Christian, whom he nicknamed, Lil'Man, who was his pride and joy, always bringing a smile to his Papa's face and warmth to his heart. Robert was always there for his family, and sharing his life with his wife of 24 years, Evangeline. Robert was a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, father, husband and friend. Loved by all and respected by many. He was proceded in death by his parents, a sister, Wilma James, brothers, Wilford, Winfred, Jerry, Alvin all of Bishop, California and a grandson, Robert Antonie Martinez of Yerington. He is survived by his wife, Evangeline of Yerington; two daughters, Cheryl Rambeau and Roberta Rambeau both of Yerington; a grandson, Christian Martinez (Lil'Mam) of Yerington; a step-daughter, Julie and her husband, Joe Gallegos of Carson City and their children, Christina and Marcos; a brother-in-law, Leland Fisherman of Yerington; and brothers, Virgil of Bishop and Wally of Arkansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Robert will be greatly missed and loved and always in our thoughts and memories. See you on the other side.
Graveside funeral service will be held 10:00 am Monday, April 13th at the Valley View Cemetery.
