Ronald Lee Stephens passed away Saturday, October 15, 2016 at the South Lyon Medical Center/Long Term Care. He was 80.

Ron was born November 5, 1935 in The Dalles, Oregon the son of Dwane and Ivolene Stephens. He was a veteran having served in the US Navy.

Ron had a PhD in Physics after attending U.C.L.A and Fordham University. Ron had worked for Xerox for over 20 years in New York and California

He was a member of the Elks Lodge and the Moose Lodge. He was also a Mason. He enjoyed Sailing, Flying, Golf, RV traveling and reading. They lived on his sail boat "Starshine" for four years in Mexico.

Ron is survived by his wife, Kathleen, who loved Ron beyond words, he was her wonderful "Ronnie"; his daughters, Dr. Elizabeth Stephens Mortola and her husband Peter, Jennifer Stephens and Step-Daughters, Claire Lynn Stottlemeyer and Paulette Fryer; his grandchildren, Noah James Mortola, Riley Stephens Mortola, Renee, Kisha, Teresa, David Robert; his great grandchildren, Caleb, Chloe, Ceara and Kenley.

A joint service will be held for Ron and his Brother, Gary. The Rosary will be held 6:00 pm Sunday, November 20th at the Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home. Their Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 am Monday, November 21 at Holy Family Catholic Church. A reception will follow the Mass at the Catholic Center. Inurnment with military honors will be held 2:00 pm Monday at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley.
