Obituary
Rosalee Marie Pitts Friend, 40, of Yerington, NV, passed away on March 29, 2010 at Renown Medical Center in Reno, NV.
She was born on Oct. 30, 1969 in Yerington, to Reeford Pitts and Helen McCann Davis. She attended schools in Yerington, spending several years with her grandparents and foster mother Doris McCargar. Most of her life was spent in Susanville, CA, raising her family, coming often to Yerington to visit.
She was a caregiver and a member of the Yerington Paiute Tribe.
Rosie was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Ed McCann and Mamie Dempsey McCann and Frank Quinn and Hazel Pitts Quinn; uncles Albert John and Alley McCann; aunts Betty McCann Rogers and Sophina Pitts Smith.
Surviving her are sons Michael Baisley of Reno, Vincent Spotted Calf of Fallon, NV and daughter Josie Friend of Susanville; sisters Marilyn (Randy) Halligan, Connie (Ted) Foster, both of Carson City, NV, Emily (Malcolm) Boothroyd of Tooele, UT, Melinda O'Brien of Bloomington, IL; brothers Leonard (Denise) Pitts of Gardnerville, NV, Frank Trujillo of Wadsworth, NV, Cyrus Davis and LeRoy Davis, both of Nixon, NV; uncle Joe (Joan) McCann of Yerington; aunts Edith McCann of Bridgeport, CA, Deora Carrera and Mary Stevens, both of Yerington, and Jenny Dick of Coleville, CA; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives, and friends.
Funeral service will be held Fri., April 2, at 11:00 a.m., at the Yerington Paiute Tribal Gymnasium. Viewing will be held from 10:15 a.m. until the service. A fellowship gathering and luncheon will follow after the service.
