Obituary

Rudolph A. Schwandt passed away peacefully at his home in Wellington, Nevada on Tuesday evening, June 24, 2008. He was 99.

Rudolph was born in San Francisco, California on February 27, 1909 the son of Otto and Freida (Fricke) Schwandt. He moved to the Lancaster, California area with his family in 1913. He ranched in the area from 1931 - 1959. He had been a member of the Elks Lodge, the Masonic Lodge and was past president of the Kern/Antelope Valley Historical Society. After his retirement he moved to Smith Valley, Nevada where he lived for the past 36 years.

He is survived by his daughters, Marjorie Urrea and Carolyn Luschar; his five grandchildren, Bob Urrea, Terri Chichester, Dale Fullerton, Randy Fullerton and Shari Gribble; 8 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 10:00 am Monday, June 30th, 2008 at the Smith Valley Community United Methodist Church in Smith. Pastor Tom Walburn will officiate.
