Ruth Irene Edwards passed away on Monday, July 14, 2014 at the South Lyon Medical Center/Long Term Care in Yerington, Nevada. She was 84.

Ruth was born in Rialto, California on May 23, 1930 the twin daughter of Earl and Villa (Meddock) Emley. Ruth spent many years growing up in Saratoga, California. She moved to Nevada in 1980 where she fell in love with her late husband Jerry Edwards. They were married on July 4, 1990, shortly after they moved to Yerington. They both become involved in the community. Ruth loved to volunteer, she had more than 600 hours of service with the Hospital Auxiliary. She was a member and past president of the St. Anne's guild, she attended Red Hats functions and was a member of the Women's American Legion, Ruth was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi. In her younger years in Saratoga she taught folk dancing to the children of Sacred Heart Catholic School. She also sang and collectively as a family we believe our dear Mother and Grandmother is in Heaven singing and dancing for our Lord and Savior.

Ruth is survived by her daughter, Roxanne Cordisco Brooks and her husband Jerry; her son Frank Cordisco and his wife Shaila; her twin sister, Rhea and her husband, Ray Woosley her grandchildren, Emley Brooks Sowell and her husband Travis, Daniel Cordisco, Andrew Cordisco and Aaron Cordisco.

A Rosary will be recited for Ruth 7:00 pm Thursday, August 21st at the Holy Family Catholic Church, her Memorial Mass will be 10:00 am Friday, August 22nd at Holy Family Catholic Church, 103 North West Street Yerington. Her cremains will be buried with her husband, Jerry at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley.
