Sandra Doris "Sandy" Corkern passed away Friday morning, March 2, 2007 at the Saint Mary's Regional Hospital, Reno. She was 55.

Sandy was born April 29, 1951 in East Orange, New Jersey the daughter of James and Doris (Horn) Gianoulis. She had graduated from the Holy Family Catholic Girl's School in Glendale, California. She was an accomplished pianist and music teacher who loved children dearly. She also loved animals, people. She was very kind to the elderly and was a very giving of herself to others. She was devotedly religious and very much in touch with God. She also loved to make people laugh. She had worked over 20 years as an account clerk in the Mono County Auditor's office. After living in Bridgeport for many years she had lived in Yerington for the past 8 years. She had married Dale Corkern in Bridgeport on May 2, 1999.

She is survived by her husband, Dale of Yerington, Nevada; her brother and his wife, Steven and Karen Gianoulis of Stanhope, New Jersey; her sister and her husband, Lynn and John McCauley of Milford, Pennsylvania; her nieces, Analise and Hailey Gianoulis of Stanhope, New Jersey; a nephew, Matt McCauley of Milford, PA; two aunts, Kitty Curtis of Valencia, California and Ann Coulourides of Mission Viejo, California and a cousin, Leo Coulourides of Clairemount, California.

A funeral Mass will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at the Holy Family Catholic Church 37 N. West Street Yerington. Burial will be at the Bridgeport Cemetery.
