Sarah Poncho passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at the South Lyon Medical Center in Yerington, NV. She was 79.
Sarah was born in Arizona on March 10, 1936 the daughter of William and Dorothy Scott. She married Adam Poncho, Sr. in Reno on November 15, 1957. Mr. Poncho passed away in 1988.
She lived the past 21 years in Yerington coming from Oakland, CA. She was a member of the Ladies Club of Intertribal Friendship House and their Senior Program. Sarah was a master of Native American Arts and Crafts, a Master Bead worker and Quilter and also a master Fry Bread maker.
She is survived by her Sons, Adam Poncho, Jr. William Poncho and Darryl Poncho; her daughter, Doreen Emm; Daughter-in-law, Johnella Sanchez and Son-in-law, Elwood Lee Emm, Jr.; her brothers, Clifford Scott, William Scott, Samuel Scott and Andrew Scott; her sisters, Margaret Hicks, Juanita Frazier, Edna Tsiniginii, Wilhelinia John and Elizabeth Benally; her grandchildren, Adam Day Poncho III, Redhouse Poncho, Kasima Kinlichilnii, Elwood-Bayoodzin Emm, Shundean Shirley-Kay Emm; great grandchildren, Mayfield Montes-Poncho, Arliano Poncho, Chaytan Poncho, Dine Poncho, Natanii Gambrell and Kinyaani Bazan.
A family visitation was held at the Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home. Her cremains will be buried with her husband in Evergreen Cemetery in Oakland, CA.
