Sophia Acciari Seubert passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Renown Medical Center in Reno. She was 86.

Sophia was born on January 10, 1931 in Smith Valley, Nevada to August and Henrietta Bunkowski. She attened Smith Valley schools. On July 17, 1949 Sophia married her high school sweetheart, Joe Acciari. Joe and Sophia bought a farm in Smith Valley where they raised their 3 children. On their farm they grew onions, potatoes an alfalfa. In the late 1960's, Joe and Sophia went into the house moving business. Sophia worked alongside Joe on the farm and moving houses until Joe's sudden passing in 1971.
Sophia, along with her 2 sons built and operated a ranch supply
business in Smith Valley for over 30 years. Sophia was married to Vernon Bryan for a short time.

On July 8, 1982, Sophia married Don Seubert. Together, they
bought and ran the Nordyke Ranch in Mason Valley where they raised cattle. Sophia was a member of the PTA, 20-30etts and Beta Sigma Phi for many years. She was an active member of the Smith Valley Historical Society.

Sophia is survived by her 2 sons, Joe and his wife Cathy, Dennis and his wife Linda, daughter Mary Ann Curtis, brother Julius Bunkowski (Rose), sister Mary Nuti (Ralph), sister in laws, Judy Shope and Madeline Acciari along with numerous nieces and nephews. Sophia also had 10 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren that were her pride and joy. Sophia's sister, Katy Stutevant, preceded her in death.

Sophia's funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the Smith Valley Community Center. Burial will be at the Hillcrest Cemetery. A Reception will follow the burial.
